Happy Friday!

This was a hectic week.  Tuesday was the last day of classes.  In Philosophy I helped with the technology for another student's presentation and in Creative Thinking we did a group presentation about an invention idea we had (I posted my handout in my RPP).  It was fun, and I enjoyed class, but class days are always tiring.  I went in early in the day to do school work, so I was on campus from 10:00-9:00.

I was supposed to do a training for MACC at EST on Wednesday, which was nerve-racking, since I'm always so tired on Wednesdays.  It turned out not to be an issue; we had our first big snow, so KC and I couldn't get out there.  The drive out and back with KC was really fun on both days, though.  It's so nice to spend time with Team VISTA, so positive.

We went out Thursday instead, and it was really interesting.  I didn't get to see the evaluations, but folks seemed relatively into it.  I was presenting on my "HECE Learning Objectives" idea, so this was something new.  It helped me get an idea for where the concept is unclear, and where I need to make the case better.  It definitely confirmed that I need to make the case for it; HECE is so far from effective evaluation and concrete outcomes, it sounds strange to people to suggest it.  So I need to make the case for it, and then offers tools on how to do it.  So the presentation was really interesting for me to do, and I always love interacting with the VISTAs.

As a funny follow up...EST was at a camp in Worcester which was covered with snow and ice, and I fell!  It was a classic, dramatic, comedy sketch fall.  I slid forward for a bit, trying to catch my balance, then landed face-first in a mud puddle.  I scrapped up my hand, knee and face, got covered in mud, and ripped my pants...but I didn't get hurt, and my classed didn't break.  Most importantly, it happened AFTER the training!  I can't imagine if it had happened before...
