This week I've been trying to finish one particular project at work.  It has taken much longer than expected.

At first I thought it would be relatively easy.  That I realized it was going to take more time than I anticipated.  Then I thought I found a way to stream line it.  Then that backfired, and it took even more time.

So I'm running behind.  The good news is that I should be able to finish it relatively quickly, and I learned a lot in the process.  The next time I have to do this it should go much smoother.

My classes start next Tuesday.  I'm both nervous and excited.  The classes sound really interesting, and I'm looking forward to them, but I'm always anxious going into a new semester.

I ordered my books last night.  They cost more than I expected, and I was tempted to wait to order them (I'm waiting for my financial aid), but I didn't want to start the semester behind.  As it is, I might not get one of the books until the end of next week.

I'm taking Critical Thinking, Research Practices and Reflective Practice.  Research Practices and Critical Thinking are required, and Reflective Practice is a continuation of an elective I started last semester.

I'm excited about this semester, because I have a general plan for my synthesis, and can use my classes this semester to start working on the idea.  I'm hoping I can start on it now, continue during the summer, and be in a good position to wrap it up when I take the official synthesis class in the fall.  Here's hoping, anyway!
