Happy Halloween!

I'm not doing anything in particular to celebrate Halloween, but it's worth noting, anyway.

Let's see, what do I want to list?

In current events, yesterday the Daily Show had their Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear in DC.  I haven't seen any of the coverage yet, but it should be interesting.  I don't watch the actual show (I don't have a TV), but I watch clips online, and I'm constantly struck by the witty insights of the show.  I really appreciate their idea for a "million moderates march," so I hope it went well.

More seriously, there's been a serious Cholera outbreak in Haiti, largely because of the unhealthy living conditions after the earthquake earlier this year.  I can't imagine what it's like to live through so many desperate situations.

On another Haiti note, I heard a fascinating podcast about an organization that was trying to help Haiti, and other places recovering from disasters, preserve their cultural heritage by recovering and protecting cultural artwork.  While it might not be as immediate as saving lives, I really appreciate the idea of help preserve a groups culture.  In the long run preserving history and culture means a lot to individuals and society as a whole.

This weekend I've been trying to catch up on homeowork and get more organized in general.  It's an uphill battle, but I'm making progress.

On Thursday night we had a great meeting for the Reflective Practice class, with Jeremy (the instructor), Scott (the other student), and I.  It's such a great class, and really pushes me to develop both personally and professionally.
