Technically it's after midnight (12:45), so it's Thursday, but I'm counting this as my Wednesday entry!

Today was my first day of "vacation."  The MACC office is closed until January 4, for a total of 12 days, and today was the first!  Going that long without working is tough on the budget, but it will be nice to have time to relax, and I have a lot of to do items.

I didn't do exactly what I intended today, but I was relatively productive.  I did a lot of dishes and worked on straightening the kitchen, which always feels like a good start to being productive.

I pet and played with the cats, I took a nap, I made a pizza, all of which were nice.

I talked to my mom for almost two hours (she actually visits this page; Hi Mom!), which was good.  Normally we'd get together for the holiday, but this year we're skipping.

I sat down to try and plan what I want to get done between now and when classes start for the spring.  I've been looking for a good online tool that would help me organize a complex list of to-do items, and I might have found one.  It's called Wizehive, and it seems pretty useful, so I used it to make a to do list for the month.  I'm also hoping it will help me get into a routine for things I want to do on a regular basis; journal, creative writing, class stuff, even *gasp* exercise.  I feel like having a way to keep track of/organize to do items is really helpful for me.

Oh, I also finished rolling the change from my piggy bank (actually, it's shaped like a smurf).  Not earthshaking, but satisfying as a concrete accomplishment.  The bank held about $55.  I wonder if the bank's open tomorrow?  I should try to deposit it...

I also decided I'm going to use this break to "detox" from sugar and caffeine.  No caffeine for me, and only one sugary drink a day (working down to none).  I had two sugary drinks today, but I haven't had any caffeine since Saturday, so that's good.  I don't even really crave it, which is a good sign...

I think I want to do the laundry tomorrow.  It's really bugging me.  After the kitchen, it's the thing I like to do when I'm trying to get organized and be productive.  It's probably a good day for it; I can't imagine that many people will be doing their laundry on Christmas Eve...
